Workstream 5: Evaluation and Dissemination
Lead: Genovefa Kefalidou, Evaluation Research Associate: Sebastian Wang
The aim of Workstream 5 is to develop a comprehensive evaluation plan to support the development, implementation, and refinement of activities and interventions across all I-REACCH workstreams. This involves defining clear evaluation framework, metrics, and data collection procedures that gather meaningful insights from stakeholder groups.
In close collaboration with WS1–4, WS5 is building an inclusive and adaptable evaluation framework that captures both the measurable outcomes and lived experiences of participants. By applying user-centred design principles, WS5 ensures that the authentic voices of researchers are embedded throughout the process. The team uses mixed-methods research to map the diverse perspectives, expectations, and interpretations of research culture across the University of Leicester.
Beyond evaluation, WS5 champions culture transformation by amplifying the impact of I-REACCH through the sharing of best practices. These are made accessible through visual storytelling, case studies, and exhibition materials, fostering institutional learning and sector-wide dialogue on research culture improvement.
Workstream Outline:

Understanding Value and Impact:
Using an iterative mixed-methods approach: including surveys, interviews, and participatory workshops. This phase explores how I-REACCH interventions influence individual perceptions, experiences, and behaviours related to research culture and environment.

Co-Designing Evaluation Metrics:
Evaluation metrics and frameworks are co-developed with input from workstream teams and mirror co-investigators. These collaborative cycles ensure that metrics reflect real needs, align with user values, and are adaptable across disciplines and roles.

Dissemination and Shared Learning:
Findings are synthesised into accessible reports, case studies, visual outputs, and public exhibitions. These will be shared through internal showcases, promotional campaigns, and external presentations, ensuring that insights and impact are translated into institutional and sector-wide practice.
