The activities for I-REACCH, a Wellcome Trust funded project, are now underway, exploring and improving how we engage in research culture at the University of Leicester. As a part of the project, we will be looking to hear views from colleagues with hiring manager responsibilities for research roles, to support development and implementation of a pilot activity to improve current practice.
To kick things off, we will be holding a workshop on 5th February for those with experience of the recruitment processes at the University, either as a hiring manager or interview panel member. The aim of this workshop is to garner benchmark information around recruitment process knowledge and practices, specifically for research posts. This will include discussion around any barriers to good practice and diversity, and exploring potential areas for improvement.
There will be a follow-up workshop later this year detailing the pilot activity, which we would then request feedback on after a period of implementation. As a thank you for taking part, we are able to offer a £10 voucher to use at any of the campus food outlets, to participants involved in the pilot activity who attend both workshops.
The workshop will be held from 10:00-11:00 on March 20th, 2025, taking place in the Maurice Shock building on main campus. Once you have expressed interest and availability to attend, you will be provided with participant information to allow for informed consent before a booking is confirmed.
