We’re looking for interviewees: What makes researcher recruitment and retention inclusive?
The activities for I-REACCH, a Wellcome Trust funded project, are now underway, with various workshops, focus groups and interviews to explore and improve how we all engage in research culture at the University of Leicester.
Within I-REACCH, workstream 1 is looking specifically at how we can utilise inclusive recruitment and retention practices to overcome barriers to diversity within staff research roles. This will include:
- Looking into best practices among research groups and research support service teams in relation to fostering diversity, inclusivity, and staff retention.
- Exploring potential changes to recruitment processes specific to research-related positions.
- Exploring the impacts of inclusivity, representation, and research culture, on the decision-making process for researchers choosing to join or leave the University of Leicester, or transition away from research.
If you are interested in getting involved with any of the above, or would simply like some more information, please do not hesitate to reach out to Fi Wood (fiona.wood@le.ac.uk) or the I-REACCH team (ireacch@le.ac.uk).
Thank you for considering this – only with the input of our colleagues can we hope to make a difference in building an inclusive and diverse community of future researchers!
