SUMMARY:Interview: What makes researcher recruitment and retention inclusive?
DESCRIPTION:Activities for I-REACCH\, a Wellcome Trust funded project\, are now underway\, exploring and improving how we engage in research culture at the University of Leicester. We would like to interview colleagues to explore three key topics: \n\nThe diversity and culture of research groups and/or research support service teams.\nThe decisions to join the University of Leicester (from recent starters).\nThe decisions of those leaving the University of Leicester and/or transition away from research \n\nThe interviews will be arranged on an individual basis around your availability and preferences\, taking place on main campus or via teams. Once you have expressed interest\, you will be provided with participant information to allow for informed consent before an interview time is confirmed. As a thank you for taking part\, we are able to offer a £10 voucher to use at any of the campus food outlets. \nAny questions can be directed to Fi Wood (fiona.wood@le.ac.uk). \nClick here to express your interest for the interview \n  \n

SUMMARY:Career Passport Workshop
DESCRIPTION: Thank you for your strong engagement during our e-career passport workshop\, hosted by Prof. Elizabeth Hurren on October 16th. This interactive session provided Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs) with the opportunity to offer valuable input on the career passport. \n\n\n\nThe feedback you provided—both positive and constructive—will play a crucial role in shaping the final version of the passport. Every contribution helps ensure the end product will support you the most. Your participation is highly valued!

SUMMARY:I-REACCH Internal Launch
DESCRIPTION:We had great turnout at SBBB on July 2nd\, where we highlighted barriers to inclusive research culture and how I-REACCH aims to address them. \n\n\n\nThis project will be dramatically shaped and improved with your input and feedback\, which is why we were delighted to hear your optimism regarding the digital career passport\, and the community-led funding opportunities for pilot projects. \n\n\n\nYour biggest questions were about the sustainability of the project’s impact\, especially as the aim of I-REACCH is to create solutions with longevity beyond its 2-year life-span. Attendees asked us what makes this project more impactful than previous efforts.  In addition to the increase in resources (funding\, time) and support from senior leadership\, input and interrogation from you\, our research community\, is what gives I-REACCH its strength. Hence\, we hope this newsletter will open opportunities for regular updates and opportunities for interaction. \n\n\n\nFollowing our launch\, we received helpful feedback\, which noted that the information was concise and clear\, and that the time given to Q&A was also highly valued. Some attendees hoped to have a more in-depth description of the workstreams\, which we will provide through this newsletter and on our website. (It was also noted that tea and coffee was delivered to the wrong floor – sorry!) \n\n\n\nIn response\, our team is working on creating accessible and detailed information about the workstreams. We have started by including a workstream progress section in our newsletter\, which will be developed over time. We will offer more events and opportunities for interaction and discussion with you\, including a hybrid event. \n\n\n\nTHANK YOU to those who attended the launch event\, and to those who have signed up to the newsletter to learn more about this project. \n \n
